Getting a wholesome meal at any domestic airport used to be a joke. Greasy pizza. Stale white bread sandwiches. And so on. As nutrition professor Marion Nestle said when I interviewed her for this article, "Oh Heaven help us. Airports!"
But these days, many airports (and even some airlines) have begun offering healthier choices—whether it be sushi or snacks such as unsalted nuts, yogurt, and fresh fruit (that actually looks worth eating). Here are a few tips on how to eat better while traveling, for my Endless Vacation column.
